About one-third of brown bullhead catfish in Lake Memphremagog, spanning Quebec and Vermont, have been found with skin melanoma tumors (ca.news.yahoo.com). This is reportedly the first known transmissible cancer in catfish. Researchers say the black, lumpy spots discovered on the fish are indicative of this rare condition.
