Nigerian businessman Onuigbo Ndubisi Chinedu was arrested at an airport in Lagos for attempting to smuggle 3.3 kilograms of illicit substances to the UK, authorities announced. The drugs were hidden inside food packaging, according to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). The arrest came during a routine inspection, where officials discovered the contraband concealed within the cartons.
The seized substances, which are classified as illegal, are believed to have a combined value of over $1.6 million. Chinedu is now in custody and faces legal proceedings. The NDLEA emphasized the importance of such operations in curbing the flow of narcotics into the UK and other international markets.
