Ooni of Ife, Lamidi Adeyemi, has publicly endorsed President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms and urged for national peace, as Kogi and Edo state governors visited the palace. The monarch’s remarks were shared in a statement by Ooni’s Senior Media Officer, Sodiq Lawal, representing the Director of Media and Public Affairs, Otunba Moses Olafare. The visit coincided with ongoing discussions on economic recovery and regional stability.
The governors’ meeting with the Ooni highlights growing collaboration between traditional leaders and the federal government on economic and social issues. Tinubu’s reforms, which include measures to boost infrastructure and reduce inflation, have drawn support from key stakeholders. The Ooni’s backing underscores the role of traditional institutions in shaping national policy.
Lawal emphasized the importance of unity in addressing economic challenges, noting that the current administration is focused on restoring public confidence. The visit also included discussions on cultural preservation and inter-state cooperation.
