A former Deputy Director-Auditor, Hannah Wambui Mwaura, has been charged with fraudulent acquisition of public property under Kenya’s Anti-Corruption and Economic Crimes Act (2003). The charges allege that Mwaura used a forged Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting option) degree to secure employment. The case was disclosed by the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) in a recent statement. Mwaura, also known as Anna Wambui Mwaura, is now required to post a Ksh1 million bond as part of the legal process. The charges highlight ongoing efforts by Kenyan authorities to combat corruption within public service. The case is currently under investigation, with further legal proceedings expected in the coming weeks. (peopledaily.digital)
