Detectives from Kayole Police Station in Nairobi have arrested a person of interest linked to a robbery at a salon in Saika on July 26, 2026, according to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI). The arrest followed an intelligence-led operation. The incident disrupted a peaceful chama meeting, a common savings group in Kenya.
The suspect is connected to a broader criminal network involved in thefts, including the recent recovery of 132 stolen mobile phones. Police in Kayole arrested four suspects during an operation targeting a phone theft syndicate. The operation was based on intelligence reports about the network’s activities in the Nyaura area.
Separately, the DCI also arrested a suspect linked to a car break-in syndicate at Sameer Business Park. A motorist had her laptop and charger stolen, prompting a dramatic escape attempt by the suspect. The arrest was part of ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal networks in Nairobi.
