Nairobi police have arrested a suspect linked to a car break-in syndicate, according to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI). The incident occurred when a motorist returned to her parked vehicle at Sameer Business, where the break-in took place. The suspect was identified through ongoing investigations into a series of thefts targeting vehicles in the area. The DCI has confirmed that the arrest is part of a broader effort to dismantle the criminal network responsible for the attacks.
The arrest comes as the DCI continues to investigate several high-profile cases, including the murder of Dr. Victoria Mutiso. In that case, a court recently remanded an advocate representing the victim’s family into custody while the DCI conducts its investigation. The case has drawn attention due to its violent nature and the ongoing probe into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Separately, the DCI has also taken action against a local politician over alleged incitement during a political rally. Member of Parliament John Kaguchia was arrested by detectives for remarks he allegedly made that could be considered incitement. These developments highlight the DCI’s active role in addressing both criminal and political threats in the region.
