SROL, a Nigerian transportation company, has announced the expansion of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives with a new youth transport scheme and support for artisans in Osun State. The program aims to improve mobility for young people and boost local craftsmanship, according to a report by BusinessDay Nigeria (businessday.ng).
The youth transport scheme will provide subsidized or free transportation services to students and young professionals in key areas of Osun, helping to reduce travel costs and increase access to education and employment opportunities. Meanwhile, the artisan support component will include training workshops, equipment donations, and market access programs to help local craftsmen enhance their skills and reach wider audiences.
The initiative comes as part of SROL’s broader efforts to contribute to community development and economic growth in Osun. Officials from the company stated that the program will be implemented in collaboration with local authorities and non-governmental organizations to ensure its effectiveness and sustainability.
The CSR drive is expected to run for the next two years, with initial funding coming from both corporate and government sources. This marks a significant step in SROL’s commitment to social impact and long-term community engagement in the region.
