Tinubu Launches National Policing Bill and Solar Power Initiative

President Bola Tinubu has announced the establishment of a Presidential Working Group to oversee the implementation of the National Policing Bill, aimed at reforming law enforcement in Nigeria. The initiative is part of broader efforts to modernize security frameworks and improve public safety across the country.

In a separate development, Tinubu also unveiled the Tinubu Light Initiative, which will allocate $500 million to install solar power systems in public universities. The project is designed to enhance energy access and reduce reliance on traditional power sources, particularly in regions with unreliable electricity supply.

The National Policing Bill is expected to introduce structural changes to the police force, including improved training, accountability measures, and community engagement strategies. Officials have emphasized that the working group will include experts from various sectors to ensure the policy is both effective and inclusive.

The Tinubu Light Initiative reflects the administration’s focus on infrastructure development and sustainable energy solutions. Both initiatives are seen as key components of Tinubu’s agenda to drive economic growth and improve public services. (businessday.ng)
