Rescue operations are ongoing in the Karakoram region, where the avalanche occurred. The incident has prompted an international response, with climbers from multiple countries involved. Four bodies were found near the avalanche site, reported Witness.co.za. The search continues for others, including an American climber whose remains were later found, according to Fox News.
Among those missing is renowned climber Nirmal Purja, who was part of a high-risk expedition. His disappearance has raised concerns, with reports indicating he may be feared dead. The bodies of eight climbers have been identified, according to Samaa TV. The search for survivors and the recovery of remains remain active as teams work in difficult conditions.
