Saudi Arabia’s aid agency has expanded its humanitarian efforts in Yemen by launching a nationwide campaign to distribute one million insecticide-treated mosquito nets, aimed at combating malaria, while also facilitating the voluntary return of 155 Somali refugees to their homeland (arabnews.pk). The initiative, reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), was launched in Aden in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) and Yemen’s National Malaria Control Program.
The mosquito net distribution is part of a broader strategy to improve public health in Yemen, where malaria remains a significant challenge due to ongoing conflict and limited access to medical care. The campaign is expected to benefit thousands of families across the country.
In parallel, the Saudi aid agency has also supported the repatriation of Somali refugees, enabling them to return to their country. This effort reflects the agency’s commitment to both regional stability and humanitarian relief. The repatriation process is voluntary and aims to provide refugees with safe conditions to rebuild their lives.
The Saudi Press Agency highlighted the importance of international cooperation in addressing humanitarian crises, emphasizing the role of multilateral organizations like the WHO in supporting such initiatives.
