Philippines to Launch First Professional Pickleball League

The Philippines may soon host its first professional pickleball league, following discussions between the Games and Amusements Board (GAB) and Kosmas Athletic Ventures Corporation (KAVC). The collaboration aims to organize professional tournaments and establish a national league, marking a significant step for the sport in the country.

KAVC officials, led by Head of Operations Richard Bachmann, recently met with GAB representatives to explore the feasibility of launching the league. The talks focused on creating a structured competition that could attract both local and international players. This initiative is expected to boost the popularity of pickleball, a rapidly growing sport in Asia.

The partnership between GAB and KAVC highlights the growing interest in professional sports in the Philippines. If successful, the league could set a new standard for competitive play and provide opportunities for athletes to compete at a higher level. (cebudailynews.inquirer.net)
