Police and prosecution errors allowed a proven sex offender to murder two women in London, according to court findings. Simon Levy, 40, was found guilty of killing Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo in March 2025 and Sheryl Wilkins five months later. Delays in sexual assault charges and failures to report past convictions during court hearings gave Levy the opportunity to attack more women, according to the Crown Prosecution Service. The CPS admitted errors at three court hearings in May, June, and August 2024, which allowed Levy to remain free.
