Ghanaian film production companies Sparrow Studios and OldFilm Productions have announced a collaborative project to commemorate the country's 70th Independence Day. The initiative, titled “The 70 Slate: A Cinematic Celebration of Ghana at 70,” aims to highlight Ghana’s cultural and historical milestones through three films. The project was launched at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra on September 8.
The films will focus on key moments in Ghana’s history, showcasing its achievements and challenges. The collaboration between the two studios reflects a growing trend of local content creation in the country’s film industry. While details of the individual films remain undisclosed, the project is expected to premiere ahead of Ghana’s Independence Day in 2024.
