AXIAN and the African Development Bank (AfDB) have launched a digital finance program aimed at supporting 34,000 women-led businesses across five African countries. The initiative seeks to enhance access to financial services and promote economic empowerment for women entrepreneurs.
The program will provide digital tools and training to help women business owners manage their finances, access credit, and expand their operations. It is part of broader efforts to increase women’s participation in the economy and reduce gender disparities in financial inclusion.
Participating countries include Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, and Uganda. The collaboration between AXIAN and AfDB highlights the growing focus on leveraging technology to drive inclusive economic growth.
The initiative is expected to run over the next two years, with regular assessments to measure its impact on women-led enterprises.
