Malaysia and Brunei have agreed to finalize the demarcation of their land boundary in Sector F-G by May 31, 2027. The agreement was reached during discussions between the two nations, focusing on resolving the boundary issue based on the watershed principle. This principle, which defines borders based on natural water divides, has been central to their negotiations. The two countries reaffirmed their commitment to resolving the dispute without external interference. The demarcation of Sector F-G is part of a broader effort to complete the entire border between Malaysia and Brunei by 2034. The agreement comes after years of diplomatic talks aimed at clarifying the exact boundaries between the two neighboring nations. The watershed principle remains the key legal and geographical basis for the demarcation process.
