Kuala Lumpur — Government Backbenchers Club (BBC) chairman Datuk Dr Zaliha Mustafa has criticized Perikatan Nasional (PN) MPs for walking out during a special Dewan Rakyat session to debate the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report on Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH). The walkout occurred as lawmakers discussed the findings of the inquiry into the financial management of TH, a state-run organization responsible for managing pilgrimage funds. Zaliha accused the PN MPs of undermining the legislative process and failing to engage constructively with the report.
The RCI report, which was released earlier this week, highlighted significant financial irregularities and mismanagement within TH. The findings have sparked a political debate over accountability and transparency in the administration of public funds. Meanwhile, TH has announced plans to recover assets lost due to the scandal, including the purchase of assets from TRX at a cost 130 million ringgit lower than the original valuation.
