Kuala Lumpur: Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) depositors have been reassured that zakat payments made on their behalf are valid and in line with Syariah law, according to a statement made in the Dewan Rakyat. The assurance comes as part of ongoing discussions regarding the management and transparency of the organization.
The statement was made by Zulkifli, who emphasized that the payments were carried out correctly and that depositors should not have any concerns. This clarification follows recent calls for greater oversight of TH’s operations.
Meanwhile, there have been demands for a forensic audit of TH to ensure accountability and transparency. Muhyiddin has urged that a comprehensive and continuous audit be completed within a year. Such measures are seen as necessary to address concerns about the management of the organization.
Political parties, including UMNO and BN, have also been called upon to address administrative weaknesses within TH. These calls highlight the growing pressure on the institution to improve its governance and financial practices.
