President Bola Tinubu has called on governors elected under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to unite and support his re-election bid in 2027. During a recent address, Tinubu emphasized the importance of party cohesion, urging governors to work together to secure victory.
Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, confirmed that all APC governors are committed to delivering their states for Tinubu. Uzodimma highlighted the unity among state executives, stating they are prepared to mobilize resources and political influence to strengthen the president’s campaign.
Meanwhile, the African Policy and Research Consortium (APRC) has urged Tinubu to nominate former President Goodluck Jonathan for the position of United Nations Secretary-General. This call comes amid ongoing discussions about Nigeria’s role in international diplomacy.
Despite these efforts, opposition parties remain divided. The All Progressives Congress (ADC) has stated it does not need a coalition to challenge Tinubu in the 2027 election, signaling a potential shift in the political landscape.
