Kassim Afegbua, Edo State Commissioner for Information, has predicted President Bola Tinubu will win the 2027 Nigerian presidential election, placing former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Governor Peter Obi in second and third positions, respectively. This forecast comes as Tinubu faces growing scrutiny over economic policies that critics argue have led to rising prices and weakened purchasing power.
Meanwhile, Nyesom Wike, Minister of Federal Capital Territory, has reaffirmed the Rainbow Coalition’s support for Tinubu’s re-election. In a statement, Wike emphasized the coalition’s role in mobilizing backing for Tinubu, despite internal tensions with other political figures like Hope Uzodimma. Atiku, however, has criticized Tinubu’s economic strategy, accusing him of exporting Nigeria’s wealth while leaving citizens struggling with inflation and declining factory output.
The 2027 election is shaping up as a key test for Tinubu’s administration, with political alliances and economic performance likely to play decisive roles. As the campaign period approaches, the debate over Nigeria’s economic direction remains central to the political discourse.
