Israeli forces killed nine Palestinians at a police post in Gaza on Wednesday, according to medics, as the attack targeted what Hamas described as the headquarters of the municipal police. The strike wounded 15 others, with several officers, including high-ranking personnel, among the casualties. The incident occurred two days after U.S. Envoy Jared Kushner concluded a visit to the region that failed to advance Donald Trump’s plan for ending the war in Gaza.
The Gaza Interior Ministry condemned the attack as a “brutal massacre,” accusing Israel of seeking to dismantle the local police force. The attack has raised concerns about the stalled ceasefire efforts, with recent strikes and raids casting doubt on progress made during Kushner’s visit.
Separately, the Israeli military announced criminal investigations into the killing of a six-year-old girl, Hind Rajab, and the deaths of 15 Palestinian medics. These cases have drawn international attention, highlighting ongoing tensions and the complex legal and humanitarian challenges in the region.
The military also stated it would not investigate the 2024 killing of Australian aid worker Zomi Frankcom, underscoring the selective nature of its probes into high-profile incidents.
