Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of former world boxing champion Zolani Tete, who was shot dead outside his home in Mdantsane, Eastern Cape, South Africa. The incident occurred on Friday, June 21, during an ambush by two armed men wearing balaclavas. Tete, 38, was pronounced dead at the scene.
South African police confirmed the arrests of two individuals, aged 30 and 22, who were apprehended in Ku Gompo on Saturday during an intelligence-driven operation. The suspects are currently in custody, and further arrests are expected as the investigation continues. Tete was known for his career in boxing, having competed in multiple weight classes and gained recognition in international competitions.
