Bank Negara Malaysia has approved RM2.8 billion in financing to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) impacted by the Middle East conflict. The funds will be distributed through the SME Stabilisation Relief Facility, aimed at stabilizing businesses affected by the ongoing regional tensions. Over 4,900 SME accounts are expected to benefit from the initiative, which provides financial relief to businesses facing operational challenges.

The decision comes as the Middle East conflict continues to disrupt global trade and supply chains, affecting businesses in Malaysia. Bank Negara emphasized the importance of maintaining economic stability and supporting local industries during uncertain times. The SME SRF is part of broader measures to cushion the economy from external shocks.

The move reflects the central bank’s commitment to safeguarding economic resilience. By offering targeted financial support, Bank Negara aims to ensure SMEs can continue operations and contribute to national economic growth. The initiative underscores the government’s focus on mitigating the impact of geopolitical events on domestic businesses.
