KUCHING: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has nearly completed the domestic part of its investigation into KWAP's RM163.4 million investment in the Indonesian aquaculture company eFishery. The probe, which focuses on potential corruption and misuse of public funds, is now at 80 percent completion.

Authorities have been examining the financial transactions and governance practices of the investment, which was made through the government-linked entity KWAP. The investigation aims to determine whether any irregularities or violations of anti-corruption laws were involved.

No arrests or formal charges have been announced as of now. The remaining 20 percent of the inquiry is expected to conclude in the coming weeks. The outcome of the investigation could have significant implications for both the involved parties and the broader regulatory environment in Malaysia.

The MACC has not provided further details on the findings or the next steps in the case.
