Enugu United Palm Products (UPPL) has commenced commercial operations at its newly built palm oil refinery following a $2.2 million investment. The facility, located in Enugu State, Nigeria, is now producing refined palm oil for local and international markets. The project was officially launched with the presence of Governor Peter Mbah, who received a sample of the first batch of refined oil.
The investment marks a significant step in the company’s expansion strategy, aiming to increase production capacity and improve product quality. UPPL has emphasized its commitment to sustainable practices and supporting local agriculture. The refinery is expected to create jobs and boost the regional economy by reducing reliance on imported oils.
The company plans to export its products to neighboring countries and beyond, leveraging Nigeria’s position as a leading producer of palm oil. UPPL’s move reflects growing interest in modernizing the palm oil sector and enhancing its competitiveness in global markets. The project also aligns with government initiatives to promote local industries and reduce trade deficits.
The new refinery is equipped with advanced technology to ensure efficient processing and compliance with international standards. UPPL’s success could set a precedent for other firms in the region seeking to modernize their operations and meet global demand.
