A major section of the M6 motorway near Birmingham has been closed after a wildfire in Stourbridge sent thick smoke across the road. The closure, affecting the northbound direction between junctions 5 and 6, was announced by National Highways as a result of the intense grass fire. Firefighters are currently working to control the blaze, which has already damaged six homes in the Racecourse Lane area of Stourbridge. A total of 100 emergency personnel are on the scene, battling the flames and managing the thick smoke that has spread across the road.
