The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has strongly opposed the Supreme Court’s ruling that invalidated the delegate system used in internal party elections, calling the decision a “huge burden” on the party’s operations. The ruling, which struck down the system allowing delegates to represent members in internal elections, has sparked controversy within the NPP leadership, with concerns over its impact on party governance and electoral processes (.Gh).
In a separate development, the NPP’s aspiring National Chairman, John Boadu, has appointed Alhaji Rashid Salifu as the Northern Sector Campaign Coordinator ahead of the party’s National Delegates Conference in September. Salifu, the Northern Regional Organiser, will work alongside Felicia Tettey, a former Second Vice Chairperson in the Northern Region, to mobilize support and prepare for the conference.
Meanwhile, the NPP has raised concerns over the alleged arrest of a communicator from the Asante Akyem South constituency. Party officials have expressed alarm and are demanding clarity on the situation, though no official details have been released.
