Casio is reportedly preparing a new G-Shock model that could become the most expensive and rare in its history. The watch, part of the MR-G series, will feature a sapphire case and be limited to just 20 pieces worldwide. Priced at 10 million yen, roughly $65,000, it is expected to outshine the previous luxury offering from 2019, which was a gold square model. This new release marks the 30th anniversary of the G-Shock line, highlighting Casio’s ongoing commitment to high-end watchmaking.

In addition to the high-end model, Casio has announced a collaboration with GrowthRing & Supply for a special edition of the DW-5600RL-1. Inspired by Japanese designer Yu Miyama’s typography, the watch features a unique lettering style and will be available in Hong Kong on September 17. A matching t-shirt is also part of the package, reinforcing the brand’s focus on design and cultural influence.

The two releases reflect Casio’s strategy to blend traditional watchmaking with contemporary design. While the sapphire-cased model targets collectors and luxury enthusiasts, the collaboration with GrowthRing & Supply appeals to a broader audience interested in fashion and art. Both products are set to showcase Casio’s versatility in the global market.
