The uniform rollout follows a 2023 review by the Presidential Taskforce on Police Reforms. While the design has been praised for its familiar style, some critics have raised concerns about transparency in the tender process. The government has not yet addressed these criticisms publicly.
The new uniform is intended for General Duty officers, marking a visible shift in the police service’s appearance and operational approach. The event highlighted the ongoing efforts to reform and modernize Kenya’s law enforcement.
