The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, addressed concerns raised by Nigerians in the UK who faced delays and alleged extra fees during the passport application process. The intervention aims to streamline services and ensure uninterrupted passport production.
Nigerians in the UK have expressed frustration over the delays and poor organization at Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) passport centres. Some reported being asked to pay an extra £70, which they claim was not part of the official fee structure.
The Nigerian government has assured that all passport services will remain free of additional charges. The clarification follows efforts to improve the efficiency and transparency of passport processing for Nigerians abroad.
