A former head of Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency claimed that Israeli spies had visited Iran’s Fordow nuclear site multiple times in the past to gather intelligence, according to a report from Arab News. The former Mossad chief made the remarks during a recent interview, highlighting Israel’s ongoing efforts to monitor Iran’s nuclear program.
The comments came as tensions remain high in the region, with the U.S.-Iran conflict continuing to escalate. Reports indicate that the United States briefly joined Israel in a 12-day military operation last year aimed at disrupting Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile capabilities. The operation, which Israel described as a necessary response to an existential threat, saw U.S. forces using advanced military assets.
Meanwhile, the Iranian government has refused to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a critical shipping route, until the U.S. meets its demands. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that Iran has “astonished the whole world” in its resistance to U.S. military actions.
The situation has also led to heightened security measures for U.S. President Donald Trump, who reportedly switched from Air Force One to a smaller military aircraft to avoid an alleged Iranian assassination threat. The move was described as a secret operation involving a catering truck and a decoy plane.
