Meanwhile, Marcos has yet to comment on a proposed legislative change that would extend the term of barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan officials from four to five years. The bill, introduced by Senator Francis Escudero, is currently under review, and the presidential office has not yet issued an official stance. Palace spokesperson Claire Castro confirmed that Marcos will provide his assessment once the proposal is fully examined.
