President Masoud Pezeshkian of Iran has confirmed that Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei is “completely healthy” following a nearly seven-hour meeting, dismissing reports of his critical condition. The statement comes amid speculation about the leader’s health, which had circulated in recent days. Pezeshkian emphasized that Khamenei’s health was not an issue, and the meeting focused on key national concerns.
The meeting, described as one of the longest between the two leaders in recent years, reportedly addressed economic challenges and the impact of U.S. sanctions. Pezeshkian also highlighted the importance of “unity and cohesion” within the country, a message reportedly conveyed by Khamenei. The discussion took place against a backdrop of regional tensions, including the ongoing crisis in West Asia and the Strait of Hormuz.
In separate developments, Iran has seen a reshuffle of its leadership structure, with former SNSC Secretary Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr appointed as Khamenei’s political adviser and Mohsen Rezaei named as his representative on the Supreme National Security Council. These appointments signal a consolidation of power within the country’s top security and political institutions.
The changes come as Iran continues to navigate complex geopolitical challenges, with internal leadership dynamics playing a key role in shaping the nation’s strategic direction.
