Uganda’s Tooro Kingdom has lost its ruler, King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, who died at the age of 34. The monarch, who became the world’s youngest reigning monarch at just three years old, passed away on Thursday. His death was announced by the Tooro Kingdom’s Prime Minister, Calvin Armstrong Rwomiire Akiiki, on Friday.
The king had served as the cultural leader of the Tooro Kingdom for nearly three decades. He ascended the throne as a child and has been a central figure in the kingdom’s traditions and governance. The cause of his death was not immediately disclosed.
The Tooro Kingdom is currently in mourning, with plans for a royal funeral procession underway. The community has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of a leader who played a significant role in preserving the kingdom’s heritage.
