A bus carrying students from the Technical University of Mombasa (TUM) crashed near Ahero, Kisumu County, killing two and injuring dozens, according to local media. The incident occurred as the students traveled from Mombasa to Kisumu for the funeral of Elvis Otieno, a local resident. The bus was part of a convoy, and the crash happened on the Awasi–Ahero highway in Nyando, according to reports.
Footage captured the moment the bus swayed before the accident, showing the students in distress. The video, shared by local news outlets, highlights the chaotic scene as the bus overturned. At least two people were confirmed dead, while others were hospitalized with injuries. The students had safely arrived in Kisumu earlier to receive Otieno’s body, which had been earlier transported.
