President Bola Tinubu has named Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan as the new head of the Civil Service of the Federation, effective August 27, 2026. The appointment was announced in a formal release, marking a key administrative change in the Nigerian government.

Tinubu also resumed his role as head of state by presiding over the Federal Executive Council (FEC) in Abuja. This was his first FEC meeting since June 29, 2026, following a period of administrative pause. The session began with the national anthem and included discussions on ongoing government priorities.

During the meeting, the council observed a minute of silence to honor two recently deceased former ministers, Alhaji Abubakar Alhaji and Prof. Turner Isoun. The FEC also addressed recent policy developments, including the redirection of funds recovered by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) toward a student loan initiative.

The government’s focus on administrative restructuring and policy continuity reflects ongoing efforts to stabilize governance and address economic challenges.
