Nigeria’s economic outlook has been upgraded to “positive” by Moody’s, marking a shift from “stable,” as the country demonstrates improved resilience against external shocks. The rating agency highlighted increased foreign exchange reserves and stronger-than-expected economic growth as key factors behind the revision.

The improvement comes amid rising crude oil prices driven by the Middle East conflict, which has boosted Nigeria’s revenue from petroleum exports. This has contributed to a more stable financial environment, supporting the country’s ability to manage economic pressures.

Nigeria, Africa’s third-largest economy and a major oil producer, has also seen a surge in refined petroleum product exports. These developments have strengthened its economic performance, reinforcing the positive outlook.

The revised rating reflects confidence in Nigeria’s ability to sustain growth and maintain financial stability in the coming years.
