Investors are being urged to consider rangeland restoration as a profitable opportunity, with returns up to six times the initial investment. This was highlighted during the 17th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification, held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Experts presented data showing that every dollar invested in restoring degraded land can yield between four and six dollars in returns.

Brazil also announced its commitment to restoring over 163,000 square kilometers of degraded land by 2030. The country’s pledge was part of the same conference, emphasizing global efforts to combat land degradation. The event brought together governments, scientists, and investors to discuss sustainable land management and economic benefits.

The conference underscored the role of public and private sectors in addressing environmental challenges. With growing interest in green investments, the focus on land restoration reflects a shift toward sustainable development. The discussions in Ulaanbaatar aim to encourage long-term strategies for ecological and economic recovery.
