Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, has acquired a 19th-century Gothic castle in Ireland. The property, known as Strancally Castle, is part of a 440-acre estate. The purchase was confirmed by a spokesperson for Zuckerberg, who noted the family’s excitement about the historic home.
The castle, built around 1830, is located near Meta’s international headquarters in Ireland. The exact price of the transaction remains undisclosed, though estimates suggest it could range between €20 million and €30 million. Local residents have welcomed the new arrival, with some describing Waterford as a growing hub for wealthy individuals.
Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan, are expected to spend time in Ireland, continuing to care for the property. The acquisition highlights the growing presence of tech executives in the region, with the castle becoming another high-profile addition to the area’s real estate landscape.
The purchase reflects a broader trend of tech leaders investing in historic properties, blending personal interests with business ventures.
