The iPhone Duo's main camera module measures closer in size to the standard iPhone 17 and 17 Pro than to the smaller modules used in the iPhone 16e and 17e. This contradicts earlier claims that the Duo's camera differed from the 17e. Apple's technical specifications list the same "Hybrid Focus Pixels" autofocus design for both models.
The confusion arose from initial measurements suggesting a discrepancy in camera size. However, further analysis shows the Duo's camera aligns with the 17e's specifications. Apple has not yet clarified the reason for the earlier reports.
Meanwhile, Apple has raised the prices of its older iPhone models, including the 16, 17, and 17e, alongside the launch of the new iPhone 18 Pro and Duo. The price increases bring these models closer to their original launch prices.
The iPhone 18 Pro also introduces a dual eSIM feature, allowing users to run two active lines and store up to eight SIM profiles. This update is expected to benefit frequent travelers and users in regions without physical SIM trays.
