Xiaomi has announced the start of its HyperOS 4 update program for global users, following its initial rollout in China earlier this year. The update, which includes Android 17, is now available to seven devices in the first batch. Three of these models are already eligible for the test version, according to the company.
The update program follows a beta rollout that began in mid-August 2026 in China. Xiaomi has not yet released details on the full list of devices participating in the global rollout. The company is focusing on expanding its software ecosystem beyond its domestic market.
Meanwhile, China has emphasized its trade relationship with India, calling the ties mutually beneficial. Officials have also addressed reports of a potential probe into Xiaomi by India’s SFIO, seeking a fair environment for Chinese firms. Ahead of the BRICS summit, diplomatic efforts are underway to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
Xiaomi’s move reflects its growing influence in the global smartphone market. The HyperOS 4 update is seen as a step toward enhancing user experience and maintaining competitive edge in international markets.
