The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Director General, Brig. Gen. Olakunle Nafiu, has issued a warning to institutions responsible for producing corps members, emphasizing the need to maintain the credibility of the scheme. Speaking in Abuja, Nafiu highlighted the importance of ensuring that all uploaded materials are accurate and reflect the true nature of the program.

The directive comes amid concerns over the quality and authenticity of information being shared by some institutions. Nafiu stressed that any attempt to undermine the scheme’s credibility could have serious implications for the program’s effectiveness. He called for strict adherence to guidelines to ensure transparency and accountability.

The NYSC, a key component of Nigeria’s national service program, has faced scrutiny in recent months over inconsistencies in the data provided by participating universities and polytechnics. Nafiu’s message is seen as a step toward reinforcing the program’s integrity and ensuring that all stakeholders remain committed to its goals.

The warning underscores the ongoing efforts to address challenges within the program and maintain public trust in its operations.
