The Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) issued a warning about potential ashfall from the Kanlaon volcano on Negros Island. The alert came after the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported that the volcano released a large amount of ash at 11:23 a.M. The ash reached 150 meters above the summit crater.

Residents near the volcano were advised to take precautions as the ash could affect air quality and visibility. The OCD urged people to stay informed and follow safety guidelines. The situation is being monitored closely by authorities.

Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon, or habagat, is expected to bring rains to parts of Luzon, while Visayas and Mindanao may experience fair weather. PAGASA’s forecast highlights the changing weather patterns across the region.

The volcanic activity and weather changes are being tracked by local agencies to ensure public safety and preparedness.
