United Palm Products Limited has launched commercial production at its new refinery in Enugu, Nigeria. The project, a public-private partnership, involves an investment of $2.2 million to process Crude Palm Oil (CPO) into olein and stearin. The facility also refines palm kernel oil, enhancing local production capabilities.
The refinery aims to boost the value chain of palm oil, supporting both domestic and international markets. By converting raw materials into refined products, the initiative reduces reliance on imports and increases economic activity in the region. Local suppliers and workers benefit from the expanded operations.
The investment underscores growing interest in the agricultural sector, particularly in refining and processing. The project aligns with government efforts to promote local industries and sustainable practices. Further details on production capacity and market targets remain pending.
