The Cebu City Technical Infrastructure Committee (TIC) has concluded that the Monterrazas de Cebu development is not definitively linked to flooding in surrounding areas. Based on its technical assessment, the committee recommended that the city council allow the continuation of existing and ongoing projects at the site.

The decision comes after a review of flood risks associated with the development. The TIC found no conclusive evidence that the project was solely or directly responsible for the flooding incidents reported in nearby regions. The findings were presented to the Sangguniang Panlungsod, the local legislative body, which is now expected to act on the recommendation.

Local officials emphasized the importance of balancing urban development with environmental considerations. While the project moves forward, further monitoring of the area’s drainage systems remains a priority. The outcome reflects a cautious approach to growth, acknowledging both the economic benefits of the development and the need for responsible planning.
