Nigeria and South Africa have launched new initiatives aimed at providing young Africans with real-world experience and career opportunities. The Nigerian Pan-African leadership and innovation organisation Doubleyou has launched the African Student Impact Program (ASIP), bringing together university students from over 18 countries to gain practical experience before graduation. The program focuses on leadership and innovation, offering students hands-on projects and mentorship.
Meanwhile, PUBG Mobile has expanded its Rising Designer programme, offering two paid internships to young African designers. The initiative, part of PUBG Mobile’s For Africa, By Africa campaign, allows participants to work directly on game design projects and potentially see their work featured in the game. This provides a clear pathway from academic portfolios to professional roles in the gaming industry.
Both programs highlight growing efforts to support youth development and skill-building across the continent. By connecting students with industry opportunities, these initiatives aim to foster innovation and economic growth. The focus on practical experience and mentorship underscores a broader trend of investing in Africa’s next generation of leaders and creators.
