Opposition parties including the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) have raised concerns about the credibility of President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 campaign team. The criticism comes amid growing political tensions ahead of the upcoming elections. Leaders from these parties argue that the campaign strategy lacks transparency and fails to address key issues facing the public.
Barrister Ken Imansuagbon, a chieftain of the ADC and former Edo State governorship aspirant, has also voiced his support for Atiku Abubakar, the opposition’s presidential candidate. Imansuagbon criticized Tinubu’s decision to remove the petrol subsidy, claiming it has not improved the lives of ordinary Nigerians. He emphasized that Atiku’s policy proposals offer a more viable solution to the country’s economic challenges.
Atiku, who is running against Tinubu, has also called on the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to investigate Tinubu’s past decisions. This adds to the political pressure on Tinubu’s administration as the election approaches. The debate over economic policies and campaign integrity continues to shape the political landscape in Nigeria.
