Governorship candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yobe State have pledged loyalty to their party, even if they are elected. Baba Malam Wali, the APC governorship candidate in Yobe, assured that he would not betray the trust reposed in him by party leaders, including Buni and Geidam.
Meanwhile, in Oyo State, the APC has intensified efforts to resolve internal disagreements ahead of the 2027 general elections. The party’s National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, received a report from the state reconciliation committee in Ibadan. Several aggrieved governorship aspirants, including Adebayo Adelabu and Akeem Agbaje, have remained away from the process, indicating ongoing tensions.
The reconciliation efforts come amid reports of disputes over leadership and electoral strategies. In Osun State, the APC’s National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has faced criticism over the conduct of the gubernatorial election, with some accusing the party of engaging in vote-buying and inducement.
Despite these challenges, the APC continues to focus on unity ahead of the 2027 elections, with efforts to mend internal divisions and strengthen party cohesion.
