President Bola Tinubu has appointed Deji Elumoye as his adviser on homeland security, marking a key step in the administration’s strategic planning. Elumoye, based in Abuja, will lead a committee comprising senior military and intelligence officials. The group includes the National Security Adviser, defence minister, defence chief, and heads of key security agencies.
The committee has 90 days to submit a comprehensive report on security reforms. This initiative aims to strengthen national defense and address emerging threats. Elumoye’s role is critical as he will coordinate with various security bodies to develop long-term strategies.
The appointment reflects Tinubu’s focus on consolidating security frameworks. The 5-year plan is expected to enhance coordination between civilian and military authorities. Officials emphasize the need for a unified approach to tackle challenges facing the country.
