Real estate in Nigeria continues to lag behind Rwanda's emerging market, according to investor Tony Chinedu Nwulu. Nwulu, founder of Azari Luxury Properties, highlights Rwanda's predictable economic environment as a key factor attracting foreign investment. In contrast, Nigeria faces challenges such as political instability and inconsistent policy implementation.
Nwulu notes that Rwanda's government has created a more stable business climate, making it a preferred destination for real estate developers. This stability has led to increased foreign direct investment in Rwanda's urban centers. Meanwhile, Nigeria's real estate sector remains constrained by regulatory hurdles and limited infrastructure development.
The investor emphasizes that Nigeria's real estate market is still in its early stages of growth. He suggests that improving governance and streamlining land acquisition processes could help Nigeria catch up with Rwanda. However, until these changes occur, investors are increasingly looking elsewhere for safer returns.
Nigeria's real estate sector faces a growing gap compared to neighboring countries like Rwanda, where economic predictability is driving investment.
